Discussions this past week regarding the Tetrad or four consecutive blood red moons and their significance has presented the question asking what factors cause one to arrive at that conclusion that we live in the last days? From Acts 2:16-17 the scripture says, “this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh.” Dr. Luke continues a few verses down and quotes Peter’s sermon by saying in Acts 2:20, “the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord shall come.” Note that Joel, Peter and John in Revelation 6:12 all stated that the moon will be turned into blood before that day. If the last days began in the time of Jesus as stated by Peter in Acts 2 what are “the signs at the time of the end” as spoken in Daniel 12:4?
Daniel speaks of a major sign at “the time of the end” as travel increase on which “many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall increase.” Many alive today have seen a mule delivering an ice block for an ice box and have also witnessed travel to the moon by rocket as well as millions of travelers racing across this Country. Likewise, the storage capacity of computers, today, make possible biometric identity, fingerprinting and information knowledge to control the buying and selling by every human on earth.
The “Dry Bones” of Ezekiel 37 which speak to the rebirth of Israel’s homeland occurred on May 14, 1948. Jesus said in Matthew 24:34 when all these prophecies happen, “this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” In addition, it is interesting to note that during the Six Day War in 1967 Israel recovered the capital city of Jerusalem.
After the economic collapse and dissolution in 1991 of the Soviet Union (USSR) the media and war machine of the west believed that Russia was no longer a threat. Today, Russia/Gog is the world power spoken of in Ezekiel 38 and 39 as the power from the north uniting with a list of Middle East countries ready to engage in Israel’s annihilation.
Many denominations are drifting away from the truth of Biblical Christianity. Churches have opened themselves to strange new doctrines prophesied in 1Timothy 4:1 that “in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits.”
Lawlessness and moral degeneracy is predicted in 2Timothy 3:1-6 where it states that “in the last days” perilous times shall come. Men shall be proud, blasphemers, unthankful, unholy and without natural affection. They will slander others, have no self-control, be cruel and hate what is good.
The Trinity Broadcasting Network has made the gospel available to every nation in the world through their many networks and satellites. Only God knows the extent of coverage and His exact meaning, but the scripture says in Matthew 24:14. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
As we consider the days in which we live one must recognize that “in the last days scoffers” will ask the question, “Where is the promise of His coming?” 2Peter 3:3 This question often raises its head, but it is vital to learn the warning of Matthew 24:44 which reads, therefore be ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man cometh. Except for the skeptic, most Bible theologians believe that all the scripture regarding the rapture of the church has been fulfilled and the remaining happenings to come are Tribulation prophecies and future events after the literal return of Messiah. Matthew says, therefore be ready.
