Dec. 7

    10 a.m. — The third annual Bikers United for Children Toy Run takes place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Meridian, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. Kickstands are up at 1 p.m. Each participant in the bike run is asked to bring a new toy. Police will escort the bikers through Meridian with arrival at College Park United Methodist Church, where chili and cornbread will be served. You can also drop off new toys at College Park United Methodist Church, Northside Church of the Nazarene, Ed Chaney Tire Center, the Hilton Garden Inn, Big Lots, Auto Plus Insurance or Quality Paint and Body.

Dec. 7-8

    6 p.m. — Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir presents Christmas Spectacular 2013 “He Came to Us” by Wayne and Elizabeth Goodine at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8. Sunday, Dec. 8

    5 p.m. — Broadmoor Baptist Church, 5312 Highway 39 North, in Meridian, just north of Winn Dixie on Highway 39, will have a special evening of Christmas music.  Featured will be Sandy Davidson, pianist, and Stephanie Holifield, organist. Other talent from the church will also  present selections of the Christmas season. The program is free and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Dec. 13-16

    First Assembly Meridian presents the 5th Annual Bethlehem revisited on Friday, Dec. 13, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14-15 from 5-9 p.m. There will be free guided tours, with more than 100 live characters. The event is open to the public. Free admission. Bring canned foods and coats for local missions. The church is located at 1929 Highway 19 North in Meridian.

Dec. 14

    6 p.m. — There will be a Winterfest Gospel concert at The Pentecostal Church of God, located at 181 Old Marion Road in Meridian. Artists from all over Mississippi and Alabama are expected to attend. Group choirs and soloists are invited to participate. For more information, call K. Love at 205-499-1262.

Sunday, Dec. 15

    3 p.m. — The Masonic Families invite you to join us in celebrating our 36th  Annual Christmas Program at William Chapel United Methodist Church, 1345 Highway 503, in Vossburg. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Gerald Chapman, Pastor of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church (Taylorsville, Miss.) along with the Church’s Choir. Please join us as we prepare our Hearts, Minds and Bodies to receive God’s Word.

    5 p.m. — The youth of Broadmoor Baptist Church, Highway 39 North in Meridian, just north of Winn Dixie on Highway 39,  will present the Christmas Program, “Three Wise Men and a Baby.” The program is under direction of Sandy Davidson and will be followed by a Christmas Fellowship afterward.Admission is free and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Saturday, Dec. 21

    7 p.m. — Your pastor, church family and friends are invited to attend a Christmas concert performed by The McDonald Sisters from Meridian. Attendees are invited to stay after the concert and dine in the fellowship hall. The attire will be forma or semi-formal. Bring, a husband, wife, date or friend, or come solo. Everyone is invited. A photographer will be on hand to take photos.
