The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:22 NIV by the Holy Spirit that “prophecy is not for unbelievers but for believers” and “the one who prophesies edifies the church.” (1 Cor14:4)
Cole and Krista were having a special Grandparent Day at Pearl River Elementary on Feb. 14, 2014 and we were excited to be invited to the event. Tom Carter, candidate for U.S. Congress and his wife, Jennifer, had planned a family activity to take a restful time to create a memory for their kids before the intensity of the political campaign. They were going to the coast in their trailer to camp out in the park.
Although a very successful executive with a giant defense Firm and Fortune 500 Company, SAIC, Tom had always wanted to serve in the Congress of the United States, so he registered. Weeks before Tom told me of his intention to register he had prayed to find God’s will that resulted in an internal peace. “This is the time, Dad, and I intend to enter the political fray to win the seat from the incumbent."
He had a dream that was awesome, brief and to the point. As he related the dream the intensity gripped my heart as I saw my son reaching for a Power he had known since a child. He has had a life with family easily described by Gale Sayers’ book, I am third. Tom said, “Dad, I had a dream that I ran for Congress of the United States and there were five candidates and I won.” In my response I played with his mind and ask, “did you have pizza before you went to bed last night.” He laughed and replied, “no I didn’t, but I intend to do it now.”
He was his jovial self and did not discuss his political aspiration much until my wife and I attended the Grandparent day activities in Carriere. I asked if he was feeling alright that day? His response was that Gene Taylor had just entered the race as a Republican. To this I responded with the question just before returning home. How many were in the race before the news of the day? To that he immediately replied, four. And today, there are five candidates in the race just like the number God gave you in the dream.
In Genesis before Joseph was taken into captivity in Egypt he dreamed that his brothers would bow to him. While in prison Joseph revealed the interpretation of a dream of the chief cup bearer for the King that “within three days Pharaoh will lift you up and restore you to your position as his chief cup-bearer.” Joseph was a man subject to dreams and the interpretation of dreams. Do not miss the conclusion related to Tom’s dream and the action of God as he speaks to man in a physical way to confirm the Spirit action God instructed.
Tom Carter, candidate for Congress, fourth Congressional District, had a spectacular dream and two separate prophetic words in a special church council. The same exact words said, Pastor Hickman, were spoken to Tom Carter by “a guy that doesn’t even know him to tell him, I’ve got you. I’ve got this thing … God heard!”
All occurred within a few weeks at Resurrection Life Church, Picayune, Miss. Next week, more about the Revival, Prophetic Worship Conference, recorded on DVD, April 6, 2014 with Rev. Mark Jobe. Read the description about the word of knowledge and prophecy given over Tom Carter that was startling.
PART TWO NEXT WEEK.
