Signposts on the road to Armageddon

MERIDIAN — The first Blood Red Moon of the Tetrad is, but a few weeks away, April 15, 2014. NASA research says that the Tetrad will appear only once in the 21st Century.

This is such an unusual event in the heavens that it appears to be a “sign to mark sacred times.” (Gen1:14 NIV) When we look at the two religious seasons on which the Blood Red Moons will occur in the next two years we observe that Passover is the first Holy Day and the feast of Sukkot is the second occurrence in the year. These sacred days are special because God commanded each Holy Day in each of the seasons.

The occurrence testifies that God will complete the action of His Word.  Further, He gives assurance that He will do exactly what He says, He will do.

Pesach (Passover) is the festival of freedom. Both the first and second nights of the eight-day festival of Passover is celebrated with a Seder. In Exodus 13:8 the Jews were commanded to retell the stories of the Exodus “to their child” relating to when they came out of Egypt.

The Seder is a Jewish ritual feast that marks the beginning of the Jewish Holy Day of Passover by rehearsing many biblical stories. In addition to the retelling of stories festive eating and family celebration is to be enjoyed by the whole family. As a symbol of freedom the children are instructed to recline.

Both the first two and last two days of the festival are observed as total Holy Days with no work. God said to Abram that his descendants will be slaves for 400 years. Genesis 15:14 quotes the statement from God, “But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.”

The festival of Sukkot or Booths looks back at the forty year period of time and the journey when the Israelites lived in the wilderness of Sinai. They had a relationship with God that no other nation possessed. Yet, they complained, were unhappy and created a condition where Israel could not receive God’s fullness.

God’s presence covered them every day and they could see His presence in a Cloud. At night He warmed them with his fiery presence during the forty years of miracle after miracle. Yet, the miracles did not bring a relationship between man and God.

During the journey their shoes did not wear out, their clothes lasted and God provided food, manna, and water for their need. How much food and water would it take for 3 million people to journey 40 years?

Daily, each person was given an omer or seven pints of food. (EX16:16)  That means God provided 67 box cars of food daily for 40 years. The feast of Sukkot or Booths represents a separation from the life we live and a return to an eight day worship to set man apart unto YHVH, YehWey.

They live to remember the same way that the sojourners from Egypt dwelled in a tent or temporary housing with God in their presence with the cloud before and behind them by day or a fire by night.

What is God saying by placing a bill board in the lights of heavens in the sky?  Do they “serve as signs to mark sacred times?” God continues to rehearse the faithfulness of man as He reminds each of us that faith was afforded unto Abram as righteousness.

God said in ancient times that He foretold the future by saying, “My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure.” (Isaiah 46:10) Another statement in Matthew 24:35 reads, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”  We are His creation with life by an awesome God and we serve at His sovereign pleasure.
