Signposts on the road to Armageddon

MERIDIAN — The Syrian conflict continues from last week as part two, wherein, President Obama has thrown Syria into the political arena for someone to make the decision regarding any strike on that Nation and blame may be assessed. Obama says, I did not draw a red line with chemical weapons, the world did. To invade any Nation is “no less than an act of war,” said General Dempsey.

Secretary of State Kerry, the expert on Mongolian warrior Genghis Khan, said that intelligence reports pointed to President Bashar Assad as the aggressor and mass killer. The chemical munitions used on his own people are believed to be sarin nerve gas, Syria abruptly replied, you are lying.

Further, "Russian President Vladimir Putin, a strong ally of Syrian President Bashar Assad, said he was the one with support from the majority of countries attending the Group of 20 meeting” insisting that Obama get United Nations approval. We continue from last week with the Russia/Gog-Magog invasion of Israel in league with Persia/Iran.

Just who is Magog? Ezekiel 38:2, Magog will be the nation mentioned as the leader of allied nations that will marshal forces to destroy Israel.

After the Flood, God gave Noah and his sons the responsibility of re-populating the earth. Noah’s son, Japheth, named Noah’s grandson, Magog. He taught his family a new language, and moved to a geographical location just north of the Caspian and Black Sea that is called Russia, today. (Genesis 10:3-5) Ezekiel 38:12 foretells that Russia will be the leader of many nations who will attack Israel to annihilate the Jewish state.

God told Ezekiel to say to Russia/Gog, (38:14) that a key condition for you to invade Israel is "On that day when My people Israel dwell safely.” You will know it by the world wide agreement of peace when Israel believes the Messiah has come.  Israel will be secure in her peace for she will lay down her armaments. The time for this will be in the latter days at or near the beginning of the seven year treaty.

Secondly, “you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army.”  Ezekiel 38:16 "You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes."

In our study this past week we learned that a great navy will be in place for invasion by Russia/Gog. Today, we recognize the deep warm water ports have been made available for Syria to freely use. There is need for one more element before this battle and that is the coalitions of states as found in Ezekiel 38:1-6. The confederation of states include modern day Iran, some Arab states, Germany, Turkey, Libya and Ethiopia.

When there is a war there must be a motive. Magog will attempt to destroy Israel, capture the land and strip the land of vital resources. Whoever controls the little country of Israel controls the Middle East and the oil supplies that affect the economies of industrialized nations. For this venture Russia will need help, which causes the coalition development of states.

Israel will not be expecting the attack and God will intervene with one of the greatest earthquakes in history, along with other supernatural disasters that will require seven months to bury the dead. It will be at a time when Israel is secure in her position and not expecting the attack.

But God protects, and at the end 1/6 of the armies will be left. (Ezek39:2)  This event will shift the military balance effectively removing Russia from future roles and clearing the way for the One World Leader and the Anti-Christ system.  Thus, the Syrian conflict has a significant world effect on every nation.
