A year ago Barbara Walters, a Jewish descendent by birth, hosted an ABC 20/20 program July 6, 2012 where she Anchors HEAVEN: WHERE IS IT? HOW DO WE GET THERE? From the start allow me to express my disappointment in this broadcast as it was neither investigative, nor informative and was not of interest. With the Jewish background of Ms. Walters she surely had a better understanding than offered on the program. She must be aware that the Jewish prophet stated that, Messiah’s feet will stand on the Mount when He comes. (Zechariah 14:4) reads; “And his feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east.” Surely every Jewish priest and Levite knows why the Mount of Olives is the largest cemetery in Israel. The generations that have gone before look for Messiah to return to the Mount of Olives and the believer resurrection from the dead.
The ABC feature attempted to send the message that a real heaven was pie in the sky and was a figment of the imagination. Immediately the program left the Biblical information and went to a state of mind where all was over at the end of this life except for belief that there were many ways to get to heaven. To the Christian John 14:6 records in (KJV), “Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.” To the Christian, God says, it’s difficult to explain in the natural what heaven is like. For understanding, God says, consider that the dirt or the asphalt paving on earth will be pure gold when we reach heaven. In other words, 1Corinthians 2:9 give a better understanding as Paul writes, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him.”
While all hell on earth is taking place during the Tribulation we find many activities for the risen dead, now alive, and the raptured saints that have just arrived in heaven. First, the judgment seat of Christ is to happen and every CHRISTIAN knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. Then, crowns or awards will be given in heaven because we believe God will keep His word and reward the believer for earth works, not salvation. Jesus said in Revelation 14:13 (NIV), “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them." Second, preparation for the wedding feast that will last seven days, or years, where we are grafted into the historic Savior who Himself calls us, (John 20:17) brothers and sisters, as we worship the Father. Although there are some theologians and adherents that believe that the marriage supper of the lamb will take place on earth before the millennium it appears clear in Revelation 19:7 as John wrote; “Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.” Verse 6 states, “Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty Reigns.”
