Signposts on the road to Armageddon

MERIDIAN — Hell received with open arms Jihad Muslim Tamerlan Tsarnaev who with his younger brother murdered and wounded so many in Boston. In his eternal life, today, he will be continually looking for his 70 virgins in eternity. Yet, his religion taught him his heavenly bliss was a sin on earth. Today, he will see no clouds. Simply black emptiness as he awaits the Great White Throne Judgment of God. How may anyone think that radical beliefs which bring suffering to others, that transgress the law and are evil, could possibly be good? It is sad that this bright young man never experienced the love of God and will never experience the greatness of this country as a result of his totally dysfunctional family. Tamerlan even led his brother into evil and into dismal failure. Isaiah 5:20NIV states, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.”

Genesis 6:8 states, “Noah found favor with the LORD” even though the LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. In Genesis 6:7 the LORD said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth. From this story Jesus warned in Matthew 24:37 "When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day,” corrupt and filled with violence.

The Gospel of Luke records certain events that people will see as the world looks for the return of the Messiah at the end of the age. This time period will begin states Luke 21:24NLT, when Jerusalem is no longer “trampled down by the Gentiles until the period of the Gentiles comes to an end.” Jerusalem was returned to Jewish rule after the 1967 war. In 2010 the John Hagee Ministries crowd of evangelicals and nationalist Jews was greeted by Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, in a very prophetical way as he stated, “Welcome to Jerusalem, the undivided, eternal capital of the Jewish people.”

It will be during this age writes Doctor Luke in 21:26, that “People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth. The NKJV expresses the scripture this way, "Men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth.” Matthew 24:12 records Jesus speaking of the end time when he records the cause. "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” It is reported that 19 year old Muslim Tsarnaev helped baby sit younger nieces and nephews and was a regular guy. His 26 year old brother was a married parent of a 3 year old baby girl.  How could this be normal for these murderers who placed a bomb where so many children and youth were mangled unless, “the love of many (has grown) cold.”

In this year of our Lord do we see perilous times? As we watch God’s billboard in the sky do we see “signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars?” Is this the age when children are disobedient to parents and authorities? Have you ever seen a time when so many tell you that you owe it to them and they are “unthankful?” When have you seen a time where so many perceive that they do not need God and the Church? Is this called, “Unholy?” Take time to read what the Apostle Paul predicted in 2 Timothy 3. He called the “last days” perilous. The fulfillment of this prediction is unparalleled today as crime is skyrocketing out of control throughout the world. Is this the end of time? Is it time for Messiah to return? Look at the signs of today as we see people “act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.” (2 Tim 3:5)
