Saturday, Aug. 10th

    3 p.m. — The Jasper County branch of the NAACP will meet at New Prospect M. Baptist Church, 35 CR 503274 off CR 50327, in Rose Hill. The Rev. Robert Bobbet Pastor will be the guest speaker. There will be an update from the NAACP National Convention.

    7 p.m. — A youth event featuring “Edify” in concert will be held at Vardaman Baptist Church, located off of Highway 16, east of the Kemper/Neshoba county line on Vardaman Road, in Kemper. For more info call Pastor Dennis Robinson at 601-479-5098.

Aug. 11-16

    St. Matthew M.B. Church in Shubuta will have its annual Homecoming and Revival Services Aug. 11-16 beginning at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The evangelist speaker will be the Rev. Darren Chapman, pastor of Philadelphia M.B. Church in Buckatunna.

Aug. 12-16

    7:30 p.m. — The public is invited to attend a Fall Revival during the week of Aug. 12 through Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The revival will take place at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 4126 York Road in Lauderdale, Miss. The guest speaker is Pastor James Granger of Union Baptist Church in Scooba and Mt. Herman Baptist Church in York, Ala. A homecoming will take place Sunday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. with Minister Robert Alford of St. Paul Baptist Church in Russell serving as the guest speaker.

Wednesday, Aug. 14

    5 p.m. — Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church will host a community-wide fall kickoff, with hamburgers and hotdogs at 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. That will be followed by a brief meeting at 6 p.m. in the gym with parents and children, with plenty of fun and games for the whole family afterwards.

    6:30 p.m. — NorthPark Church will conduct Single & Parenting on Wednesdays at 6:30 starting Aug. 14.

Saturday, Aug. 17

    6:30 p.m. — The Clarke County Christian Singles invites all singles from all areas to their covered dish supper and Bible study, in the Youth House at 500 North Jackson Ave. in Quitman.     7:30 p.m. — Accomplished pianist and soloist, Andrew Ishee, of Laurel,  and soloist Toni Mozingo of Hattiesburg, will be in a Gospel Concert at Stuart Memorial Auditorium, 939 Old Salt Road in Sumrall, Sat. Monday, Aug. 19

    6:30 p.m. — NorthPark Church will conduct Griefshare on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. starting Aug. 19.

Wednesday, Aug. 21st

    6:30 p.m. — DivorceCare is a 13-part series that begins Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at NorthPark Church. DivorceCare helps group members apply biblical principles as they heal from the hurt of separation and divorce. Throughout the videos and workbook, participants see how the gospel brings hope and restoration. The support group can share in a safe and confidential environment. A $40 donation is suggested to cover the costs of workbooks, materials and the facility.

Saturday, Aug. 24

    9 a.m. — S.I.P. Outreach Ministries will Host a "Prayer Breakfast" at Ebenezer Baptist Church Fellowship Hall located at 900 East 8th Street. Our theme is "Promises of God," and we invite you and church family to come to this fellowship, and worship experience. Tickets are $6 and will include breakfast, and helpful tools presented by four dynamic speakers. Musical guest will be Psalmist Lakken Johnikin, and Psalmist Kennisha Harris.
