Signposts on the road to Armageddon

MERIDIAN — The environment and the weather are a daily topic of concern. However, there are a limited number of Biblical references. Could there be a revelation regarding the coming of the Lord in this “Tetrad” of Blood Red Moons related to the weather, earthquakes or the environment?

Before God created man He spun the World into space with a creative force of balance established with gravity, inertia, and the laws of thermodynamics without a mention of perpetual motion or a forever description.

It is obvious that the genius of atmospheric balance provides life to mankind. The Bible seems to agree that planets are celestial bodies in orbit around the sun providing light and other sustaining features.

There is no proof that other planets have a core that contains a molten center, but NASA says they are in a state of cooling. Planet earth discharges gases with flowing molten lava throughout many regions of the world and other evidences are in the eruption of volcanoes.

Matter is neither created nor destroyed because matter and energy are conserved while changing into another form. Earthquakes are one of the signs of the “end of the age” as we read the words of Luke 21:11. (ESV)  “There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.”

Earthquake and seismology, the study of the effect of movement in the earth’s crust, is made up of about a dozen plates on which the continents and oceans rest. These plates continually shift and move over hot, soft mantle slowly like a conveyor belt. The plates are driven by heat and other forces at work in the Earth’s core. The plates are moving about a centimeter (0.4 inch) to 15 centimeters (6 inches) per year in different directions.

As a youngster my parents took me to a revival where the preacher declared that 19 miles down from the earth’s surface there was a lake of fire in a molten mass. It may be true scientifically, but it frightened me.

The earth is in a continual state of cooling down that presents evidence the world is in a continual state of dying. Jesus spoke to his disciples when asked about the timing of the end of the age. (Matt24:7) “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines (weather effect with drought and floods) and earthquakes in various places.”

A few verses later Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my Words will never pass away.”(Matthew24:35; Isa65:16-25) Think about the statement that the earth will pass away.

The question must be asked, is global warming a serious science question Check the numbers! The earth is cooling.

It has been claimed that the ozone layer is being depleted which may be attributed to man. The ozone layer protects us from the burning effects of ultra-violet (UV) radiation and may be only three meters thick. Yet this scarce element is essential for life on this planet.

UV radiation contamination is serious and will cause more cases of skin cancer, cataracts, and works against our immune system. It goes well beyond just getting a sunburn, and will set the stage for more rampant plagues (as predicted prior to Christ's return). REV 16:8-9 ``The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him."

Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe has stated that it is arrogant of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what God is doing with the climate. The weather is both blessing and judgment.

God, the judge of all mankind certainly knows how to bless with the weather.  Job 37:12-13 states, “The clouds churn about at His direction. They do whatever He commands throughout the earth. He makes these things happen either to punish people or to show his unfailing love.”
