MERIDIAN — Oct. 6-10

    Northside Church of Christ at 4217 Hwy. 39 North in Meridian will hold a gospel meeting starting Sunday, Oct. 6th through Thursday, Oct. 10th. Service times will be at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Mr. Larry Montgomery will be guest speaker and everyone is invited to attend.

Oct. 9 and Oct. 16

    The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will partner with a local charity, Feed by Faith, to provide the homeless with basic necessities to help prepare for upcoming cooler weather. Individuals, families, and school and church groups are encouraged to participate by assembling backpacks and/or contributing needed items. The "Backpacks for Hope" service project will take place at the church at 5805 N. Hills Street, Meridian. Drop off dates for contributions will be Oct. 9 and 16 from 6-8:00 and assembly will be Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m.  Needed items are backpacks, hats, gloves, blankets, socks and toiletries. Thursday, Oct. 10

    6 p.m. — The Fall Session of Women Who Win, a non-denominational gathering of women of faith, will be held at the Lauderdale Baptist Assn. Bldg., 5521 Clinton St., in Marion. The inspirational guest speaker will be WTOK-TV's Deana Day. The cost is $10 per person which includes a catered dinner. To make your reservation, please mail your check to Women Who Win, P.O. Friday, Oct. 11

    6 p.m. — Free Gospel Temple will be celebrating the 14th anniversary of their Pastor David Loyd and First Lady Linda Loyd.  A banquet will be held in their honor at Magnolia Hall, 4202 Highland Park Drive in Meridian. The church will also be celebrating the Church's 60th year anniversary. Come out for good food, good singing and good fellowship.  Tickets can be purchased for the banquet from any member of the church for $10.  If further information is needed, please contact Emma Webster at 601-479-1621. The festivities will conclude on Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. at Free Gospel Temple Apostolic Church. Bro. Jefferson Lawrence from Truelight Apostolic Church, Leakesville, Miss., will be the guest speaker for this event. This year's theme is "True Leaders In An Uncertain World."
