The headline for the Meridian Star, page A8, 8/29/13 reads, "UN envoy: Syria 'substance' may have killed 1000."
A nerve gas substance called “sarin gas” is believed to be the agent carried by rockets and a whirlwind or fogged as a heavy gas that poisoned the masses. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has called the evidence “undeniable” in the large-scale chemical attack.
Who did it is what the world wants to know, Assad’s regime or the Rebels? Is this the beginning of a condition that will annihilate Damascus Syria? Does anyone know who is involved in the fighting in Syria?
Two questions come to the mind of the world. Will Syria and the Middle East information provided by recognized news sources be the beginning of the end for Syria? Isaiah’s prophecy predicts the total destruction of one of the oldest cities in the world, Damascus, Syria? Second, will these conditions set the stage for the invasion of Russia/Gog-Magog in alliance with Persia/Iran and other Muslim states as recorded in Ezekiel 38?
“Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap,” Isaiah writes in chapter 17. Although it went through a crippling war by Assyria in 732 BC God gives several books of the Bible which lead to the conclusion that total destruction or “a ruinous heap” referenced in Isaiah 17 has not occurred. Amos1:3 (NLT): "The people of Damascus have sinned again and again, and I will not let them go unpunished!” Although repeatedly punished it is clear that ultimately, at some point in history at the end of time, Damascus will become a total destruction or “a ruinous heap.”
It appears from Daniel 11:40 that “at the time of the end, the king of the south will attack the king of the north. The king of the north will storm out with chariots, charioteers, and a vast navy. He will invade various lands and sweep through them like a flood.”
Today this king of the north has forbid intervention by the U.S. in the Syrian war that has killed 93,000 on both sides. The 9/1/13 article in the Meridian Star states, “Nearly 5 million people” in Syria “have been driven from their homes … in the two year civil war.” To engage the U.S. in military intervention in Syria was described by Joint Chiefs Chairman, General Martin Dempsey “as a fool’s errand.” Financially, the $17 trillion debt of the U.S. is a deterrent to military action.
Russian warships have enjoyed the free use of the Syrian ports of Tartus and Latakia as a return favor of debt forgiveness for Russian military equipment. These ports are critically important to Kremlin naval strategists.
The new warm water ports have eliminated the ice hampered ports with complete deep water port capability. Latakia, Syria was redesigned to take heavy surface units as well as submarines. To avoid interference with the Russian game plan Putin does not care if Assad continues with the mass murder of the Syrian people for the deep warm water ports exchange.
“The king of the north will storm out with … a vast navy. (Dan11:40) The King of the North, “Moscow, is sending three ships to the maintenance and repair facility, manned by fewer than 100 personnel, according to analysts. Further, the three ships would be joined by three other ships from the Russian Navy's Black Sea and Northern Sea fleets with each ship carrying 120 marines the week of 9/9/13.
Syria today is not about choosing between two sides but rather about choosing one among many sides. The confusion of who the enemy is in Syria continues to alarm the military decision makers.
General Dempsey may be more correct than Senators McCain and Levin when he said, a “military intervention in Syria was like as a fool’s errand.” Dempsey further stated, the strikes would be “no less than an act of war with no guarantee of success.”
Believers today are seeing the news spoken yesterday. In fact the entrance of the Russian/GogMagog navy into the Middle East in alliance with Persia and other Islamic states is like reading a billboard sign with the writing on the wall of the palace. (Ezekiel 38)
