Big things are happening at First Assembly of God, starting with their new state-of-the-art worship facility.
“The new worship room was formerly our fellowship hall. It's gotten a major overhaul,” Said Stacy Clearman, minister of music at the church.
The facility is decked out with new video screens, high tech lighting, and most importantly more space.
“This is a stepping stone to build a larger sanctuary because we were maxed out in our old space. Here we can seat an additional 200 people,” Clearman explained.
The church congregation has already broken in the new worship center, but soon the facility will be put to the test when Eddie James comes to the church.
“Eddie James is a modern worship leader and recording artist that we've had here before. Last time, advertising for the event was strictly word of mouth, and it was still a packed house,” Clearman said. “He comes with a 40-piece band, drama team, the whole works. But he packed the house, and we literally had a week's notice that he was coming last time, and people still came out in force. People were lined up well before the doors opened.”
Clearman says that the church hopes even more people come out to worship with Eddie James since they now have even more room to house people than before.
“He has a highly devoted, and creative team. You will hear powerful testimonies from young people who have been rescued from the streets,” Clearman said.
The event happens Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is free to all.
