Saturday, April 20

    6 p.m. — Union Baptist Church, located on Bull Swamp Road in Kemper County, will host a church auction to raise money for the church's benevolence fund. Many household items will be for sale. Hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase.

    5 p.m. — The Pastor Aide Committee of the Christian Fellowship Church in Yantley, Ala., will sponsor a Youth King-Queen Drive Parade of Beauty, Fashion and Talent. The church pastor is Robert Webb., Sr.



Sunday, April 21

    2:30 p.m. — The Missionary Society of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church cordially invites the public to their annual Mission Day Program. This year, they are building "A Car of Faith." "Whatever exists was built of faith," a press release states. "The world itself was created through faith. Anything you desire must first come into being inside you and has to be built of the substance called 'Faith.' Only then can it manifest itself in the physical world in the form of real things. The public is invited to join in an afternoon of entertainment in the name of our Lord and Savior as the church assembles "The Car of Faith." All mission members are asked to wear white.

    6 p.m. — The 2nd Mile Southern Gospel Singing Group will perform in concert at First Baptist Church of Lauderdale, 3659 Lauderdale Road, in Lauderdale. There will be a special love offering taken and a time of refreshments and fellowship immediately following the concert. All are welcome.



Saturday, April 27

    10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church will host its Annual Spring Festival to benefit local missions; the Boys & Girls Club; Love's Kitchen; People's Charity Clinic; Righteous Oaks; youth missions and church missions. The event runs until 1 p.m. Live music, games for all ages and a craft sale are new this year. Boiled shrimp plates for $8 includes a generous portion of boiled shrimp, potatoes, mushrooms and corn on the cob. Tickets available from church members or call 601-485-5598, extension 122. Deliveries available for orders of five or more plates. Call 601-485-5598, extension 123 to place an order and set up a delivery time.

    7:30 p.m. — Attend a Southern Gospel concert in Sumrall, Miss., featuring the sounds of the groups Answered Prayer, from Purvis, Miss., and Persuaded One. A love offering will be accepted at the event to be held at the Stuart Memorial Auditorium, located 5 miles west of Sumrall, 939 Old Salt Road. Take Highway 42 to Highway 44 West. Go to the Quickstop on Highway 44 and turn left onto Old Salt Road. Drive 2 miles. The auditorium will be on the right.

    

Sunday, April 28

10:30 a.m. — Shady Grove Church of God Homecoming morning worship will be at 10:30 a.m., with Bro. Lloyd Bowen as guest speaker and Vonda Bowen as worship leader. There will be a carry-in dinner after the service, with an afternoon concert at 2 p.m. featuring The Leftovers. The church is located at the corner of County Road 514 and County Road 450 in Clarke County. For more information, call 601-483-1125.



April 28 - May 1

    Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church will host a revival from April 28 through May 1. The Sunday morning revival will be at 10:15 a.m., with evening services Sunday through Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m. Graham Smith will serve as worship leader and Sam Thomas is the evangelist for the revival.



Monday, April 29

    12-12:50 — Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church will host a business luncheon Monday, April 29, from noon to 12:50 p.m. A free lunch will be provided. Please call the church office at 601-485-5106 to make a reservation.
