• The Union Baptist Church Kemper Springs will have their Homecoming service on Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. They will also have revival services on August 4th-8th at 7:30 p.m. nightly.

• The Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church will have it's revival services on Aug. 4 -Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. nightly.

• Griefshare – a seminar and support group ministry of comfort and care – begins Monday, August 18th at NorthPark Church for those facing pain from the death of a loved one. The next 13 week session of Griefshare begins at NorthPark Church, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m.

• The quartet, "Southern Reign" of Newton will be in concert Saturday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m., at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1158 16th Church Road in Chunky. A love offering will be received.

• Savannah Grove Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual Homecoming and revival Aug. 17-22. The guest for homecoming will be the Rev. George Duckworth of Shady Grove Baptist Church of Heidelberg. Services will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday and there will be a different speaker each night for the revival services beginning at 7 p.m. The church is located at 6218 D Street in Meridian. • Revival services will be held Aug. 11-15, at 7:30 p.m. nightly at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 4126 York Lauderdale Road in Lauderdale. The guest speaker will be the Rev. C.L. Walk, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Cuba, Ala.

Deacon ordination will be held Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. The Rev. J.T. McKenzie will be the guest speaker at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
