MERIDIAN —     The Mississippi Wildlife Federation's 27th Extravaganza is set for August 2 – 4, 2013. There is a need for volunteers to help manage many phases of the huge event. Help is needed for such activities as show set-up, admissions, Big Buck Contest/Magnolia Records Program display, golf car drivers, information booth, MWF membership booth, Mississippi Hunter's Harvest, show break down and others. To volunteer, e-mail byoung@mswf.org, or phone 601-605-1790 for complete information. Volunteers will receive a Volunteer T-shirt to be worn while working. Jobs are available for one or all three days of the Extravaganza.

    The National Rifle Association is announcing the grand opening of the NRA National Sporting Arms Museum. It is located at the Bass Pro Shops store in Springfield, Missouri.“We are thrilled to bring such a wonderful collection of firearms to Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World,” said NRA museum director Jim Supica. “Featuring treasured guns from the NRA collection along with special exhibits from Remington and others, this museum promises to showcase a sporting arms collection the world has never seen.” The celebration will occur August 2, 2013 at Springfield.
