Mississippi Handgrabbers Association to host tournament

MERIDIAN —     The Mississippi Handgrabbers Association is hosting the 2014 Big Fish Bounty and Statewide Handgrabbing Tournament. A tournament designed for handgrabbers, by handgrabbers. You may fish anywhere in Mississippi at anytime, just get your fish to the scales alive. You must pre-register and have a valid MS Fishing License (Resident or Non-Resident).

    Weigh-in sites will be across the state. This tournament can be fished along with any other tournaments throughout the season and fish may compete in any other tournament as long as they are alive when weighed in at one of our weigh-in sites. An example is the Snatch and Grab Handgrabbing tournament held at the Ross Barnett Reservoir on June 17, 2014 hosted by Porters Taxidermy in Brookhaven.

    Registration deadline for Big Fish Bounty and Statewide Handgrabbing Tournament is midnight May 5, 2014.     Weigh-in sites open May 12, 2014 and will be open during normal business hours of that site and will remain open through June 15, 2014. Each person or team that registers for tournament or bounty will receive five tournament tags and/or five Bounty tags. Each entry must buy into tournament and/or bounty. Buy in for tournament is

$25. Bounty buy in only will be $35. Team buy in for tournament only is $100 per team with maximum of six people per team

    Admission to final weigh-in June 28 will be $5 for adults and $2.00 for children 12 and under. Heaviest fish weighed in that day will receive $150 Cash and a 150 quart ice chest. Arts/crafts, outdoor, and food vendors will be there along with Live entertainment. Final results will be announced starting at 3:30 p.m. where 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies and prize monies will be awarded. The Big Fish Bounty Award, trophy and prize money will be given for the biggest fish of all Bounty entries. For complete information call 601-248-6612
