MERIDIAN — Kaylee Harrison took this large doe while hunting with her dad, Rusty Harrison. This deer was taken with her new .243 rifle. She said this was a great hunt and she was glad she helped put food on the table.

Ten-year-old Nick Kinney got his first buck, a six point, that weighed 135 pounds. Hunting with his grandfather, Don Delaney, the youngster took the deer at 150 yards with one shot from his 7mm-08 rifle. Their hunt was at the East Mississippi Sportsmen Association hunting club in Kemper County. Nick has attended the EMSA Youth Hunter Safety course since he was five.

Lauren Fowler bagged her first deer with a perfect shot while hunting with her friend, Haze, on his family's property. Lauren is 15 years old and a student and cheerleader at Northeast School.
