Mike Giles won a prestigious Southeastern Outdoor Press Association (SEOPA) award this month at the 2013 annual conference of the organization held in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This is one more of a string of photo awards received by this talented photographer. His photo competed against those by photographers in more than 15 states. His entry was chosen second from a long list of the best outdoor photographs entered for the past year. Mike captured the image of a Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep herd while on deer hunt in South Dakota. The photo appeared in the January 18, 2013 issue of the Meridian Star on its Outdoors page. Copies of this photo and all of Giles award winners are available. Contact him using information elsewhere on this page each week.
