Robert Lee Thomas, center and Robert E. Thomas, right, father and son from Meridian, caught huge king salmon on a recent trip to a remote lake in Alaska 65 miles northwest of Anchorage. An Australian, Ben Nieuwerth, at left, was a guest angler on the trip whose fish weighed 34 pounds. Robert Lee’s salmon weighed 22 pounds and Robert E.’s fish weighed 38 pounds.
