To make better photos of harvested game and fish, take an extra minute to place the animal or fish where it looks best. Clean away any visible blood and make sure a tongue is not exposed. Place the hunter or angler behind the subject and check to see that no distracting objects are in the photo, usually in the rear. A cluttered carport or campsite will ruin a photo. Look through the viewfinder and study the subject and the persons carefully for a moment. Straighten caps, brush back hair, move a hand and require a smile. Now your photo will bring smiles decades ahead and may be acceptable to be published in the media.
