I applaud Suzy Johnson

Suzy Johnson, I enjoyed your input associated with the Threefoot project as printed in the Meridian Star. I was much pleased that you chose to exercise your right to speak out and share your professional expertise. It has been said that Mayor John Robert Smith got after you out of disgust that reader exposure to observation other than his agenda of urban renewal masked in the name of Arts and Education would upset his apple cart.

Now I read in the Meeting Minutes on A3 (8/15/08) and learn of justification for $50,000 before being awarded and am twice pleased. Meridian is fortunate to have you as a steward of tax collections as you appear to afford us with an unorthodox, yet most logical, process of evaluation based upon fact of substance rather than "feel good" smoke and mirror government. Thanks for being there and doing the right thing.
