Grieving pet owner impressed by gesture

Always it is the unusual events that get our attention. I refer to something, unusual indeed, that I received in the mail this past Wednesday.

It was a beautiful sympathy card with a personal handwritten note from the Till-Newell Animal Hospital in Meridian in response to my family’s loss last week of “Mimi,” a loving, abandoned hound mix dog we took into our hearts and home two years ago.

What made the card so special was that it was signed by the entire office and veterinary staff. I wanted to thank them publicly for such a thoughtful gesture. Only pet lovers who have ever lost a loving animal companion can understand my sentiments.

In a world that seems to be too busy to care about animals or people, it is both comforting and refreshing to know that kindness still exists. Thanks again.
