Harold Stennis Newell

MERIDIAN —

    Graveside services for Harold Stennis Newell age 77 of DeKalb will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Cherry Cemetery.  Rev. Billy Warsaw will officiate.

    Mr. Newell passed away Saturday at Infinity Hospice.  He was a Mason, Shriner, loving husband, father and grandfather. He had 43 years of service with the Mississippi National Guard serving in Desert Storm.

    He was a truck driver most of his working life.

    Survivors include his wife Laura Marlyn Gregory Newell of DeKalb, children Ronald Harold Newell, Ramona June Newell and John Gregory Newell and wife Dalette of Collinsville, sister Laura Nell Thomaston, grandchildren Danielle Winningham and husband Allen and Daniel Rigdon.

    He was preceded in death by his parents John and Annie Newell.  Pallbearers are Jack Newell, Joe Lee Newell, Billy Brown, Tommy Danner, Joey Danner and Bud Brown.

    Visitation will be  5-7 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home in DeKalb.
