Ann McMillin Tyner

MERIDIAN —      Services for Ann McMillin Tyner will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home of Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

Ann was born in Albany, Ga., to Joseph William McMillin and Jane Norwood Adams on Nov. 13, 1948. She was raised in Mobile, Ala., where she was a graduate of Murphy High School. She also attended the University South Alabama. Ann was married to Fred Lewis Tyner of Meridian on April 11, 1970, in Mobile, Ala. Ann gave up a courageous battle with cancer at home on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, surrounded by her loving family and her husband Fred, having been primary caregiver along with Hospice Ministries. She is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Ann was an inspiration and blessing to friends, family, co-workers and all that new her. She had a liver transplant in June 2002, and then became an active member of Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency and Donate for Life. She was an avid fundraiser and made a commercial for Donate for Life. She was also a volunteer at St Dominic’s for 12 years. She didn’t miss a Monday there, no matter what. Ann was a real estate agent for 26 years and loved every minute of it.

Survivors include her husband, Fred L. Tyner of Ridgeland; son, Lewis Tyner; daughter, Lisa Tyner Williams (John); grandsons: Trevor Tyner and Drew Williams; granddaughters: Daly Williams and Kendall Tyner, all of Madison; mother, Jane Adams of Mobile, Ala.; sister, Judy McMillin (Norman Tanner) of Cayuga, Texas; brother, James Logan McMillin of Atlanta, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Charlotte Tyner of Oxford; sisters-in-law: Bobbie Morgan and Gayle Tyner of Meridian; niece, Debbie Witherington of Clinton; niece, Lynne Compton (Robert) of Meridian; and, numerous other extended family that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Williams McMillin; and brother, Joseph William McMillin Jr. (Mac).

The family would like to take the opportunity to thank the many friends who have been so kind and helpful to us during this time. Also want to thank Hospice Ministries for all the support and direction. It was appreciated.

Memorials may be made to MORA/Donate for Life, 4400 Lakeland Drive, Flowood, MS 39232.

Visitation will be today, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.
