Isaac Bilbo Jr.


    QUITMAN — Visitation services for Isaac Bilbo Jr. will be today 6-8 p.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home. Services and burial will follow at a later time at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  

    Mr. Bilbo, 87, of Quitman, died Thursday at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.

    He is survived by his children, Michael D. Bilbo and wife Linda, Mark D. Bilbo and wife Erika, Janet Sale and husband David, Alexis Gail Damron and husband Denver, and Tammara Leigh Vell;  stepchildren, Gloria Brock Shirley, and Jo Ellen Chesnut and husband Lee; grandchildren, J. F. “Brock” Shirley Jr., James David Shirley, and Stacey Shirley; Special friend and companion, Dr. Joe Ford Jacobs, numerous other grandchildren and extended family members

    Mr. Bilbo was a retired Army veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a 32 degree Master Mason.

    He was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years Gwendolyn Ladner Brock Bilbo.
