William Leroy Goodman

MERIDIAN — Farmer

    Funeral services will be held today, Friday, at 11 a.m. at the Bucatunna Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Goodman officiating. Burial will take place in Ford Memorial Gardens. Wrights Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

     Leroy went to be with his Lord and Savior with his family by his side on Tuesday, Sep. 17, 2013, at his residence.

    He was born on July 6, 1918 to Walter and Minnie (Haguewood) Goodman in Clarke County. He was a lifetime member of Bucatunna Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and was Church Treasurer for 33 years. He was a Lay Minister for several churches.

    Survivors include his son, Donald (Laura) Goodman; daughter, Gale (Tommy) George;  grandchildren, Tanya (Matt) Mayatt, Neil (Melia) Goodman, Alana (Leland) Harper, Dee Ann (Dan) Donnelly, Jeff Felts and Lee Felts; great-grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Kennedy Smith, Autumn Mayatt, Hannah Goodman, Madalyn Goodman, Mallory Goodman, Olivia Scarbrough, Hayden Donnelly, Brad Harper, Kimberly Duncan, and Brett (Kim) Harper; future great-great grandchild, Lilly Kate Harper and his pet, Mr. G; sisters, Glenda Evans and Druscilla Stewart; sister-in-law, Carolyn Goodman and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace McDonald Goodman; parents, Walter and Minnie Goodman; grandson, Mark Goodman; brothers, Rev. Leland Goodman and Odell Goodman, and sister, Laverne Boutwell.

    Visitation will be held today, Friday, at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Bucatunna Baptist Church.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Steeple Fund at Bucatunna Baptist Church, 10806 C. R. 514, Meridian, MS 39301.
