Services for David Culpepper, Jr. will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Horem Baptist Church. Rev. John Thompson is the Pastor with Elder Roy Matthews, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Enterprise Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Culpepper, 57, died Friday, August 23, 2013 at Anderson Regional Hospital South Campus. He had been employed at Ponderosa (formerly Bonanza) Steak House as a cook. He was a volunteer fire fighter for 15 years with the Vimville Volunteer Fire Department. He also was an attendant at South Harbor Shelter with MCCSA until his health began to fail.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Willis Culpepper of Meridian; a son, Marcus (Toya) Culpepper of Brandon; a daughter, Michelle Culpepper of Meridian; a grandchild, Kayleigh Briggs of Meridian; a brother, William Culpepper of New Albany, Ind.; three sisters, Rose Phillips of New Albany, Ind., Annie Rose Ford of Meridian and Shirley Horton of Yantley, Ala.; three uncles, Willie Fox, James Culpepper and J. L. Jones; three aunts, Julie Fox Allen, Catherine Fox and Joyce Fox, all of Meridian; a father in law, Picken Ramsey and a mother in law, Louise Dillard of Meridian; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Culpepper will be placed in the church at 12 noon. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
