Kenneth Boutwell Sr.

MERIDIAN —     Kenneth  Boutwell, Sr., 93 of Newton, died Friday, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Newton.

    Graveside services will be 10 a.m. on Monday at Newton County Memorial Gardens in Newton with Bro. William Savell officiating.  Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held 5 -8 p.m. today at  at Newton County Funeral Home North.

     He was formerly president of Newton County Farm Bureau and member of the state board as well as a member of the national Dairymen, Inc. Board. He was a former chairman and a charter member of the East Central Dairies, Inc. His passion was his farm and in later years growing gardens for those in the community. He was a member of Garlandville Methodist Church.  

Survivors include two sons: Kenneth Boutwell, Jr. and wife Jean of Tallahassee, Fla., and Wayne Boutwell, and wife Loletta of Suwanee, Ga.;  one daughter-in-law: Mae Dell Boutwell of Newton; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his wife: Elizabeth Wilson Boutwell; one son: Stanley Boutwell; parents:

Green and Dova Lee McGee Boutwell;  two sisters:  Lena Pearl Griffin and Lucille Montgomery;  and one brother:  Osborn "Sam" Boutwell.

    Pallbearers are Jeff Boutwell, Robert Peterson,  Jimmy Patty, Mark Boutwell,  Alan Teel, Allen Boutwell and Brian Chaney.

    Honorary pallbearers are Casey Leach and Michael Leach.   

    Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
