Shirley Jewell Ables Harris

MERIDIAN —     Shirley Jewell Ables Harris, 76, of Clarksville, Tenn., died on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. She was born on August 23, 1937, in Meridian, to the late Willard Lee Ables and Velma Louise Brewer. 
    A private memorial service was held at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Willard E. Ables officiating. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, 1510 Madison St., Clarksville, Tenn., was in charge of arrangements.
    Shirley was a sales associate at JC Penny's. 
    She is survived by her husband, Edwin Harris, Jr. of Clarksville, Tenn.; son, Edwin Harris, III (Lenore) of Pittsburgh, Penn.; daughter, Donna Amos of Pinellas Park, Fla.; brother, Rev. Willard E. Ables (Betty) of Chickasaw, Ala.; sister, Betty Jean Moore of Satsuma, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
