Dorothy Virginia Johnson Andrews

MERIDIAN — Services for Dorothy Virginia Johnson Andrews, will be held today, Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home in Gilbertown, Ala., with Reverend Larry Browning and Reverend Travis McMannis officiating. Interment will be in the Brightwater Cemetery in Needham, Ala..

    Mrs. Andrews, 72, of Melvin, Ala.; passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at her residence in Melvin, Ala.

    Survivors include her husband, Thomas J. Andrews of Melvin, Ala.; four sons, Jimmy R. Andrews (Judy) of Stonewall, Tommy Andrews (Janet) of Quitman, Bobby Andrews (Melissa) of Quitman, and Dustin Turner (Summer) of Needham, Ala.; three daughters, Peggy Turner of Melvin, Ala., Glenda Glover of Sweetwater, Ala., and Beverly Smith (Troyce) of Gilbertown, Ala.; four brothers, Willie Ed Johnson of Melvin, Ala., James Johnson of Melvin, Ala., Richard Johnson of Melvin, Ala., and Donnie Johnson of Louisiana; three sisters, Joyce Jean Turner of Melvin, Ala., Doris Haney of Melvin, Ala., and Betty Sue Turner of Quitman; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her grandson, Corey Johnson, her son-in-law, David Glover, and her parents, C.J. and Alva Mae Baker Johnson.

    Pallbearers include Larry Haven, Jim Lane, Butch Williams, Bruce Sorenson, Raymond Haven, Kenny Wayne Nix, and Brad Armistead.  Honorary pallbearers include members of Eiler Hunting Club.
