    LIVINGSTON, La. – With great sadness we announce the death of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Tom Q. Hudson.

    A visitation was held Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. at Satsuma Baptist Church in Livingston, followed by a memorial service at 6:30 pm. Both services were conducted by the Revs. Andrew Voss and Brad Delaughter and the Rev. Dr. Steve Horn.

    Burial will be today at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Meridian, Miss.

    Tom Q. Hudson, 87, passed on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013. He was a resident of Livingston and native of Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Lowe Brothers and Sherwin Williams Paint Co. and was a successful real estate broker in Louisiana for many years. He was a member of the family of Satsuma Baptist Church, where he was much loved and enjoyed teaching Sunday school.

    He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Long and her husband, Richard; two grandchildren, Craig Long and his wife, LaDonna, and Casey Long and his wife, Dane'; five great-grandchildren, Conner, Courtlin, Noah, Luke and Caleb; his sister, Madelyn McMinn and her husband, Charles, of Biloxi; brother-in-law, Bob Moore; sister and brother-in-law, Rhen and Nell Pierce of Meridian.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nan; four sisters; and one brother.

    The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home and Children's Village of Mississippi.

    He ran the good race and, as Jesus said, "Welcome home my good and faithful servant."
