David Frank Jones


    Services for David Frank Jones will be held today, at 2 p.m., at Webb Chapel with Bro. Dano Rainer officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    Mr. Jones, 85, of Meridian, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at his residence. He was a member of Arkadelphia Baptist Church. He was retired from the GM&O Railroad where he was a trainmaster and road foreman of engines. Mr. Jones was also a cattle farmer. The family wishes to give a special thanks to his dear friend Bobby Boardman for his many calls to David over the years.

    Survivors include his wife, Merita Avera Jones; son, Robert David “Robbie” Jones and wife Darlene; daughter, Darlene Skinner; grandson, David Paxton Jones and wife Beth of Memphis, Tenn.; three great granddaughters; and a brother, Donald Rush Jones Sr. and wife Connie of Fitzpatrick, Ala.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Watson Jones; and his parents, Frank and Lois McKelvaine Jones.

    Pallbearers will be Wayne Henson, Alan Davidson, Lemi Grady, Steve Avera, Dudley Williams, and Larry Williams.
