Cecil Burlon Barfoot

MERIDIAN —     UNION - Services for Cecil Burlon Barfoot will be held Saturday, at 2 p.m., at County Line Baptist Church with Bro. Jonathan Batarseh and Rev. David Jay officiating. Burial will be in the New Ireland Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Barfoot, 93, of Union, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Laird Hospital. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church.

    Survivors include two daughters: Patricia “Pat” Batarseh and husband Towfig of Meridian, and Wanda “Jeannie” Bailey of Carlsbad, N.M.; one son, Rev. Bobby Barfoot and wife Delda of Union; three grandchildren: Darrin Hathorn, David Batarseh and Jonathan Batarseh; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Carnell Suttleworth; and, numerous nieces and nephews.

    Mr. Barfoot was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jacqueline Barfoot; father, M.O. Barfoot; and mother, Nettie Barfoot.

    Pallbearers will be Darrin Hathorn, David Batarseh, Christian Batarseh, Bobby Cleveland, Michael James and David Winstead.

    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Newton County Gideons, P.O. Box 297 Newton, MS 39345, or Baptist Children’s Village, 805 North Flag Chapel Rd., Jackson, MS 39209.

    Visitation will be today, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
