Beatrice Vance Ezelle

UNION —     Services for Beatrice Vance Ezelle will be held today, at 2 p.m., at Pinckney Baptist Church, Newton County, with Bro’s. Mike Powell, Donny Powell, and Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home of Union in charge of the arrangements.

    Mrs. Ezelle, 93, of Chunky, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at her home near Union.

    Survivors include two daughters: Judy Mayes and Cynthia Rigdon (Berwyn); son, Robert Ezell, all of Union; eight grandchildren: James T. Powell of Milledgville, Ga., Bro. Mike Powell of Meridian, Chris Powell of Philadelphia, Bro. Donny Powell of Union, Stephanie Dean of Decatur, and Joey Rigdon, David Ezell, and Amy Hennington, all of Union; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and, one sister, Arietta Smith of Brandon.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Ezell; parents, Joseph “Jo” and Velma Meador Vance; two brothers: Carl and Thurman Vance; sister, Juanita Clark; and granddaughter, Alisa Rigdon.

    The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Gideons International.

    Pallbearers will be Joe Hennington, Joey Rigdon, Tyler Powell, Nathan Powell, Chris Powell, and Daniel Powell.

    Visitation will be today, from 12 noon to 2 p.m., at the church.
