Martha Louise Clayton Hursey

MERIDIAN —     Services for Martha Louise Clayton Hursey will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m., at Saint John Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Hursey, 63, of Meridian, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

    Survivors include her husband, Billy Hursey Sr.; four children: Dorothy (Mose) Sturdivant, Belinda (Tyrone) Davis, Billy Hursey Jr., and Don Hursey; Precious Hursey and Angel Richard (whom she raised as her own children); grandchildren: Heather, Kistoff, Destiny, Hailey, and Gabrielle; great-grandchildren: Justice and Mariah; siblings: Earl Clayton, Yvonne Gray, Obie Clayton, Greg Clayton, and Jeanette Harris.; half-sister, Rubie Neely; sisters-in-law: Ruby Boston, Mattie West, and Doris Ellis; brother-in-law, Wheeler Ford; and, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Obie and Annie Clayton; two sisters: Frances and Lela Clayton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hursey; two grandchildren: Princess and Billy III; one special sister-in-law, Helen Clayton; and brother-in-law, Bennie Gray.

    Visitation will be today, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.
