FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Memorial services for Melvin Ray Morphis will be held today, at 4:30 p.m., at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Thomas Spiller officiating. Williamson Memorial Funeral Home (williamsonmemorial.com) of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Morphis, 72, of Murfreesboro, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his sons: Troy (Kim) Morphis of White Bluff, Tenn., Paul (Hayley) Mophis of Franklin, Tenn., Emmett (Lee) Morphis of Greensboro, N.C., and Jody (Ann Marsh) Morphis of Greensboro, N.C.; daughter, Melinda (Thomas) Spiller of Spring Hill, Tenn.; brother, Q.T. Morphis of Ringold, Ga.; wife and mother of his children, Linda Morphis of Greensboro, N.C.; and, 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Irene Tallart Morphis; brothers: Homer, Joe and Charles Morphis; and sister, Martha Ann Vice.
Memorials may be made to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
