Johnny Bridges

MERIDIAN —

    Services for Johnny “J.B.” Bridges will be held Thursday, at 3 p.m., at Webb Chapel with Rev. Mike Miles and Bro. Sephus Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    Mr. Bridges, 57, of Union, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at his home. He was a member of Oakland Heights Church of the Nazarene. He had been attending the church of Hudson Chapel of Union. Mr. Bridges was a retired automobile mechanic working at several different places including, Floyd Motor Datsun, New South Ford, Go Toyota, Import Tech, and his own shop Small Car World.

    Survivors include his son, Casey Bridges and wife Amber of Jackson; grandson, Colton Bridges of Jackson; his mother, Clara Bridges of Meridian; three sisters: Ann Reid and husband Joe of Mobile, Ala., Betty Skipper and husband James of Meridian, and Kay Livingston of Meridian; uncle, Everett Harris and wife Teresa of Union; several nieces and nephews; and, four special friends: Ruby Mitchell, Jeff Tucker, Billy McKnight, and Terry Wilson.

    He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Johnnie Mae Harris; father, Walter Franklin Bridges; and a brother, Julius Franklin Bridges.

    Pallbearers will be Jeff Tucker, Bo Hoyt, Billy McKnight, David Bridges, Terry Wilson, and Josh Livingston.

    Honorary pallbearers are Ray Coats, Dalton Russell, Ed Woods, and Brent Chamblee.

    Visitation will be Thursday, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
