MERIDIAN —     Services for Leslie Lowell Lauderdale will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Lt. Commander Doran Kelvington, Chaplain, NAS Meridian officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Lauderdale, age 87, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief Hospital Corpsman. He served during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He also spent 26 years with the American Red Cross Disaster Services. Mr. Lauderdale was a member of Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, and the Fleet Reserve Association.

    Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lucy “Lee” Lorraine Lauderdale of Meridian; daughter, Leslie Louise Lauderdale of Gettysburg, Pa. son, Larry Lauderdale of Sheboygan Falls, Wis.; daughter, Linda Lauderdale-Dalton (James) of Meridian; grandchildren, Lauri Rowley of Harrisburg, Pa., Michelle Brown (Darrin) of Gettysburg, Pa., Jennifer Lauderdale of Mobile, Ala., Crystal Lauderdale-Masa (Peter) of Tampa, Fla., Cody Lauderdale (Candice) of Hammond, La., Hannah Williams (Gage) of Mobile, Ala., Ethan Lauderdale of Mobile, Ala., Lynsey Lauderdale of Madison, Wis., and Jessica Lauderdale of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Annabelle Joerger, Arlene Goble, and Phyllis Robinson; sister-in-law, Jeanie Lauderdale; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Jenny and Bill Ward.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Stella Lauderdale; brothers, Francis and Lawrence Lauderdale; brothers-in-law, Wilfred Joerger, Theodore Goble, and Richard Robinson; and sister-in-law, Viola Lauderdale.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Red Cross or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.

    Pallbearers will be Chris Lauderdale, Clayton Cobler, Bill Ward, Steve Wade, Matt Pellegrin, and Larry Lauderdale.

    Honorary pallbearers will be James Dalton and Peter Masa.
