Carl Keeton Phillips, Sr.

MERIDIAN —     MIAMI, FLA. - A memorial service for Carl Keeton Phillips, Sr. will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Quitman.         

    Mr. Phillips, 73, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at St. Dominic Medical Center. Mr. Phillips was born on February 28, 1940 in New York City, N.Y.; the son of the late Edmund Julius and Ella Keeton Phillips. Mr. Phillips began working for Eastern Airlines in 1966 where he served as the Chief Financial Officer for 18 years. Mr. Phillips later served as an Aviation Sales Consultant until his retirement. He married the former Sandra Ledlow in 1966. Mr. Phillips was an avid golfer, loved watching sports, especially all of South Florida’s sports teams and traveling.

    He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his three sons, Carl Keeton Phillips, Jr, John Wesley Phillips and Mark Alan Phillips ,all of Miami, Fla.; brother, Edmund Julius Phillips, Jr. of Newton; sister, Judy Fulton (Eddie) of Quitman; one nephew and four nieces.

    In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Methodist Hour or First UMC, Quitman.
