Joe Clyde Daniel

MERIDIAN —  A Graveside service with Navy Honors for Joe Clyde Daniel will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Hickory. Chaplain Kelvington from NAS Meridian will be performing the service.

            Mr. Daniel, age 60, of Greenbrier, Tenn. and formerly of Meridian, passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Meridian on Dec. 13, 1952 to the late Joseph Daniel and Martha Fite Daniel.

            He graduated from Meridian High School, Meridian, Miss. He served over 20 years in the U. S. Navy and loved amateur radio, computer gaming, bird watching and was of the Methodist Faith. He worked as an IT Manager in the Department of Safety for the State of Tennessee.

            He is survived by wife, Shannon Lang Daniel of Greenbrier, Tenn.; daughter, Melissa Kelly (Mark) Burton of Hendersonville, Tenn.; son, Jason (Brittany) Daniel of Greenbrier, Tenn.; brothers, Paul (Janice) Daniel and Bill Daniel; eight grandchildren: Katie Burton, Brandon Kennedy, Darian West, Madison Rose Daniel, Sean Burton, Briana Burton, Jayden Daniel, and Kylee Daniel. He was greatly loved by his mother-in-law, Rose Lang and his sisters and brother-in-laws.
