MERIDIAN —     Services for David E. Lott, Sr. will be held today, Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 3 p.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Revs. Tim Lott and  Virgil Walters officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Mr. Lott, 74, of Suqualena went to his final resting place to be with his Lord and Savior whom he loved and served. When David and Rachel married he was serving in the United States Army as a paratrooper and also served in the Army Reserve. He worked as a carpenter, contractor and also in property management. He was an avid supporter of his children and grandchildren at the ball field. The family cannot express the amount of love and devotion he showed them. Mr. Lott volunteered at Golden Living Center where he lead the Sunday services for over twenty years and was affectionately known as “Preacher”. Mr. Lott was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

    Survivors include his wife, the love of his life for fifty-four years, Rachel Gressett Lott; daughters, Melinda Lott and Cheryl Lott Bowles and her husband Ed; son, David E. Lott, Jr. and wife Kristina; grandchildren, Laura Bowles Posey and husband Trent, Eddie Bowles and wife Jana, David E. Lott, III, Daniel Lott, Leah Lott and Luke Lott; great-grandchild, Leyton Posey; brothers, Wallace Lott and Reverend Dewitt Lott; sister Reba Helms and a host of nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Barkley Lott and Nellie Beatrice Lott; brothers, Percy Lott, Roy Lott, Walter Lott and Henry Lott; sisters, Bernice McGaugh and Deanie Wilkerson and other family members.

    Pallbearers will be David E. Lott, Jr., Ed Bowles, Jr., Eddie Bowles, III, David E. Lott, III, Daniel Lott, Luke Lott and Trent Posey. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Lott, Scott Lott, Corey Lott and Chris Lott.

    Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
