Pruitt Smith

MERIDIAN —     Services for Pruitt Smith will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Wayne Edwards, Bill Webb and Claude Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

    Mr. Smith, 91, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at his residence. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Smith was a member of Midway Baptist Church for more than 55 years; he taught Sunday school and was active in many other church activities. He retired from the Air National Guard in 1981.

    Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jean Smith of Meridian; children, Gloria Harris of Meridian, Beverly LeBlanc and her husband, Don, of Pine Grove, La., and Garry Smith of Meridian; grandchildren, Justin LeBlanc, Gabriel LeBlanc and Valerie LeBlanc; brother, Walton Smith of Pell City, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    The family requests memorials be made to The American Heart Association.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 5 pm.-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
