Marie Cain Moore

    Marie Cain Moore, 80, a long term resident of Meridian, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013.

    Marie was born in Moundsville, W.V. on Dec. 26, 1932. She moved to New Orleans, La., where her two youngest children were born. She moved to Meridian in 1964 with her then husband, William R. Moore II (deceased) and three children: Jeff (deceased), Tammy, and Steve Moore. She was a homemaker, talented oil painter, and enjoyed cooking, sewing, arts and crafts, and working in her yard. 

    A funeral service will be held, graveside, at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Highway 39 North on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 2 p.m., where she will rest beside her son, Richard Jeffrey (Jeff) Moore. The Rev. Vicki Hughes of Main Street United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg will officiate the ceremony.

    Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Moore Brahan of Hattiesburg; her son, Steve Moore of Meridian; her granddaughter, Ann Marie Brahan and grandson, John William Brahan of Hattiesburg; her sister, Doris Ballauri of Moundsville, W.V.; her nieces: Sherry Gorby, Lois Basla, and Lynn Yokum of Moundsville, W.V.; and her nephew, Robert Cain of Moundsville, W.V.

    Marie was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Eunice Cain of Moundsville, W.V.; her brother, Harold (Cub) Cain of Moundsville, W.V.; her son, Richard Jeffrey (Jeff) Moore of Meridian; and her niece, Donna Dotson of Moundsville, W.V.
