Rachel Lynn Miller

MERIDIAN —     NEWTON, Miss. – Services for Rachel Lynn Miller will be held today, Feb. 25, 2014, at 3 p.m., at Newton County Funeral Home North Chapel in Newton with Bro. Gary Felton officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery, north of Lake.

    Rachel Miller, 73, of Collinsville, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at her home.

    She enjoyed reading and was a wonderful cook. Favorite pastimes were spent tending to her flowers, doting her as having a “green thumb.” She loved her family and taking care of her children.

    Survivors include: two sons, Dennis Gray of Collinsville and Barry Gray of Union; several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Mildred Shoemaker Ward; sisters: Carol Ward, Susan Lewis, and Joan Felton.

    Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Read, Lindsey Shoemaker, Jimmy Dale Gibbs, Jerry Strebeck, and Reggie Shoemaker.

    Visitation will be held today, from 1 p.m.-2:45 p.m., at Newton County Funeral Home North.
