Michael Jetson Robinson, Sr.


    A memorial service will be held for Michael Jetson Robinson, Sr. on April 11 at 11 a.m. at NorthPark Church, 7770 Highway 39 North, Meridian. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. The Rev. Earl Wheatley, Jr. will officiate the service.

    Mr. Robinson, 58, died Friday at his home in Madison, Alabama.

    He was a 1973 graduate of Meridian High School. He attended Meridian Junior College and received a bachelor of science degree in business from the University of Phoenix in Dallas.     Mr. Robinson retired from the United States Navy with the rank of Petty Officer First Class in 1997 and received the Navy Achievement Medal awarded by the Secretary of the Navy. Mike enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in all of their activities.

    Survivors include his wife, Sheila Poole Robinson, of Madison, Ala., his daughter Tera Robinson Murphy and her husband Jeffrey of Bailey, his sons Michael Jetson Robinson Jr. of Madison, and Troy David Robinson and his fiancée Megan Morris of The Colony, Texas; grandsons Brayden Alan Murphy and Michael Connor Murphy of Bailey, his mother Gladys Davidson Robinson of Meridian, his brothers Rick Robinson and his wife Kathy of Meridian, and Tim Robinson and his wife Kathy of Bowling Green, Kentucky; his sister, Teresa Robinson Sisson, of Meridian; nine nephews, ten nieces, two great nephews, and three great nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Charlie “Reed” Robinson.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Russel Hill Cancer Foundation, 3601 CDI Drive, Madison, Ala., 35805.
