Horace “Junior” Jenkins
UNION -- Services for Horace “Junior” Jenkins will be at 2 p.m. today at Little Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Higginbotham and the Rev. Danny Chaney officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Rock Church Cemetery, with Stephens Funeral Home of Union in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Jenkins, age 86, of Little Rock, went to his eternal home on Friday, May 3, 2013, at his home at Little Rock. He served his country in the U.S. Navy on board the U S Currituck, and was the proprietor of J & J Tire Co. in Little Rock. He has been a faithful member of the Little Rock Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include his loving and faithful wife of 67 years, Evelyn Smith Jenkins of Little Rock; two daughters, Pat Morgan and Gina Davis both of Little Rock; one son, Craig Jenkins and wife, Jackie, of Little Rock; ten grandchildren, Melissa Duggan and husband, Fred, Steve Bond and wife, Jennifer, Adam Morgan and wife, Karleen, April Stribling, Michelle Way and husband, Luke, Mitch Davis, Gus Davis, Jr. and wife, Kristy, Heather Campbell, Amy Jenkins, and Brooke McMahan and husband, Stuart; one sister, Lila Faye Baronne of Lumberton; two brothers, Keith Jenkins of Bolton, and Johnny Jenkins of Madison and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duffie and Hettie Jenkins; a son, Joey Jenkins; and three siblings, Ruth Harrison, Kline Jenkins, and Bill Jenkins.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Norman Gillis, Lance Barnett, Glenn Scott, Danny Alexander, Ryan Gillis, and Mitch Davis. Honorary pallbearer is Bill Smith.
DEKALB -- Services for Virgil McDonald will be Monday, May 6, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion (Moscow) Baptist Church DeKalb, with Billie R. Lyles officiating. Burial will be in Church Cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McDonald, 70, of DeKalb died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Mississippi Care Center of DeKalb.
Visitation will be today from 5-6 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home DeKalb.
Gloria Joyce Gossett
Services for Gloria Joyce Gossett will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Blair officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Gossett, 81, of Meridian, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Regency Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela G. McKee, Candy G. Irby and her husband Bruce; grandson, Jared K. McKee of Klamath Falls, OR; granddaughter, Kara D. Irby of Meridian; sisters, Merle Irby and Retha Hastings; sister-in-law, Peggy Platt; special foster daughter, Annie Blanks; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene “Chic” Gossett; son, Robert Mark Gossett; parents, Will and Mittie Sellers; sisters and brothers, Hazel Tabort, Sally Mae Brown, Thelma Doris “Snooky” Birdsong and her husband Billy, William “Hot” Sellers, Everett (Josh) Sellers and his wife Jean, Wyvonne Powell and her husband Harold; nieces Tjwanna Sellers Beasley; nephew, Joe Hastings, Jr.; son-in-laws, James B. “Bo” Pigott, H. Leon McKee; brother-in-law, James E. (Jimmy) Gossett; mother-in-law, Ida Mae Gossett; father-in-law, Robert L. Gossett.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Irby, Barry Murphy, Shane Sellers, Joe Moore and Robert Morris.
The family requests donations be made to Central Baptist Church or The American Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank you for the care given at Regency Hospital nursing staff, respiratory therapist and a special thank you to Dr. Edward Holmes.
