Dorothy Eloise Shelton Arline

MERIDIAN —     Dorothy Eloise Shelton Arline died on her 84th birthday, March 25, 2014, after a brief illness.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home with Fr. J. Brian Ponder officiating. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

    She was a longtime resident of Greenwood, who within the past ten years had lived in Ridgeland, and most recently Meridian. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School, and was employed by the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. for a number of years. Growing up in Greenwood she was a member of the First Baptist Church, and later became a member of the First Christian Church, where she was active in CWF. She was a member of the Greenwood Junior Auxiliary, and the Greenwood Woman’s Club.

    She is survived by her son, Robert E. Arline, Jr. (Connie) of Meridian; her grandson, Robert E. Arline III; great granddaughters, Brittany A. Arline, and Hannah S. Arline, and a sister, Inez Shelton Smith.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. R. E. Arline, and grandson Christopher York Arline.  

    Pallbearers are Rob Beasy, Jeff McCoy, Kyle McCoy, Frank Shelton, Mart Smith, and Matt Smith.

    The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Shea Hailey, and her caregivers at Aldersgate Retirement Community, Southern Care Hospice, and The Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Center.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenwood Cemetery Association
