Services for Cecil Milton Harvell, 81, of York, Ala. will be held today, Tuesday, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Lowery and Rev. Patsy Chaney officiating. Burial will follow in the York City Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home of York in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harvell passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Rush Hospital in Meridian. He was a graduate of Camden High School and Draughons Business College. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a retired accountant for American Can Paper Company. He was also a member of York Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Stella Hitt Harvell; sisters, Sadie Pugh (Keith), Mary Warner, Ann Allen (Wendall), Sandra Rodgers (Jack); and brother, Joe Harvell (Martha); and sister-in-laws Jo Harvell and Louise Harvell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Sadie Morgan Harvell; sister, Ruby Thames; brothers, Lewis, John and Billy Harvell.
Pallbearers are nephews, Mark, Mike, Max and Matt Pugh, John Paul Harvell, Gregg Allen, Daniel Warner, and Bill Hitt. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Campbell, Tommy Neal, and Jimmy Dale Powell.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the York Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
