GULFPORT — Mary Sidney Hall Love, 94, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at her home in Saucier. Mary was born in Meridian on July 29, 1918, the fourth daughter of Thomas Sidney Hall and Virgie Mae Kitchens Hall.

Mary “Granny” Love was a resident of Meridian for 90 years and moved to the Coast in 2008 where she made many close friends. Her hospitality, charm and quick wit made her home the “coffee stop” on the block where friends and family gathered often to enjoy a cup of coffee and a chat. She was an avid domino player and she never backed down from a challenge. She will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include her two sons: Gerald Gross of Saucier, and Charles Thrift of Meridian; two grandsons: Gerald Gross Jr. of Red Lion, Pa., and Christopher Thrift of Meridian; two granddaughters: Angela M. Gross, and Jennifer Gross Webb, both of Meridian; one great-granddaughter, Kristen Delaney Gross of Red Lion, Pa.; two great-grandsons: Hayden and Sawyer Webb, both of Meridian; and, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: David Glynn Gross and James Evans; and, sisters: Karleen Boswell, Ruth Bowles, Virginia Bowles, and Martha Jean Hall.

Services will be held at a later date. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, is in charge of arrangements.
