Raymond Noah Harris

MERIDIAN —     Services for Raymond Noah Harris will be held Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church, with Rev. Wayne Edwards, Dr. Keith Grubbs, Rev. Bill Webb and Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Burial will be in Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery in Meehan, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    Mr. Harris, 82, of the Meehan Community died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Rush Hospital. He was a longtime member and deacon at Midway Baptist Church. He also served on staff at Hickory Grove Baptist Church for 17 years. Mr. Harris was retired after 27 years of service from the city of Meridian. He also served in the Air National Guard.

    Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Boardman Harris of the Meehan Community; daughter Melanie Harris and her husband Paul Harris of Meridian; grandchildren Jason Lee Harris and his wife Christine of Oxford, N.C.; Tyler Anthony Harris, Jonathan Daniel Harris, Heather Martin Harris and Alyse Marie Wilson all of Meridian; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his son Anthony Ray “Tony” Harris; parents Noah Hilton and Sarah Evelyn Harris; brothers Martin Harris, Mack Harris, Billy Joe Harris and Leroy Harris and a sister Ella Jean Harris Hayes.

    Pallbearers: Jason Harris, Tyler Harris, Daniel Harris, Billy Hilton Harris, Lee Martin, Davy Jones, Danny O. Miles, Dennis Hicks, And Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Ramia and Harris Sunday school class.

    The family requests memorials be made to the Baptist Children’s Village or to The Gideon’s.

    Family and friends may sign the online guest book at

    Visitation will be held Monday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church.
